Rod Giles is a contemporary blues/rock/jazz fusion guitarist /vocalist performing in the Pacific Northwest for most of the past two decades in all types of venues ranging from small intimate settings to large arenas and outdoor festivals.
Giles has shared the stage with greats like Tommy Castro, Coco Montoya, Curtis Salgado, Jimmy Thackery, and others. Giles was recruited as the lead guitarist for the Lil Howlin Wolf Band, shortly after finishing his Blues Tracks CD. He returned to the Northwest delivering a non stop modern blues rock show. Giles is currently teamed up with Mark Felix on Bass, Homero Tamez on Percussion and Josh Cavallo on keyboards. All top notch musicians supporting the newest release SOUL THING.
Giles currently makes his home in the United States. Encouraged by relatives in his childhood who were professional musicians his sound reflects a combination of British Rock, Chicago Blues, and Texas Blues with Jazz inflections. Listening to pioneers such as Robben Ford, Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Hendrix and numerous others has influenced his sound. Giles’ music has been described as an amalgamation of electric blues rock jazz from early to present always drawing from those greats who have influenced him to create something new. Giles’ latest release is Soul Thing.
